Monday, April 25

DUI near Cass and Plainfield

Andre C. Tonneson, 25, of the 200 block of McCarther in Willowbrook, was arrested around 1:50 a.m. near Cass Avenue and Plainfield Road, police said. An officer said he heard Tonneson screeching his tires while speeding down Plainfield Road. Tonneson admitted he had been drinking, according to the report. He was charged with driving under the influence, illegal screeching of tires and speeding, police said.

Shoplifting from Walmart

A Walmart employee stopped a Woodridge girl around 6:50 p.m. after watching her put two pairs of flip-flops and four oranges into her purse, police said. Officers released her to her mother without charges, according to the report.

Thursday, April 21

Business burglary

A burglar stole about $575 in cash from a Merlin Muffler on Route 83 between 6:15 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday, police said. The suspect entered the building after hours by kicking out a panel in the garage door and took the money from a cash box stored in a desk drawer, according to the report.

Stolen cover

A thief took a tonneau cover from the bed of a pickup truck parked in a driveway on the 7000 block of Richmond between 9:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., police said. The cover was worth about $500.

April 18

Car window broken

Vandals smashed the rear window of a car parked in the Darien Sportsplex lot between 2:20 and 2:50 p.m., police said. The center console was open, but nothing had been taken, according to the report. The window will cost about $100 to replace.
