Police Blotter: Price Tag Switcheroo, Stolen iPad, Broken Car Window

Friday, June 8

Price tag scam

James J. Sanchez, 24, of the 400 block of West 79th Street in Willowbrook, was arrested around 10 p.m. at the 75th Street Walmart, said. Officers said Sanchez switched the price tags on a box of golf balls. He was charged with retail theft with court dates pending.

Wednesday, June 6

Stolen iPad

An iPad that was charging near an ice rink inside the Darien Sportsplex was stolen between 5:05 and 5:50 a.m., police said. A teacher left the iPad during a class, and when she returned from the lesson it was gone. The device was worth about $700.

Tuesday, June 5

Broken car window

Someone shattered the T-top window over the passenger seat of a car parked overnight on the 8400 block of Captons Lane, police said. The incident caused about $500 in damage.
