Police Blotter: Recent Motor Vehicle Burglaries in Darien

MONDAY, AUGUST 20

Motor Vehicle Burglary

Sometime between 9 p.m. on Aug. 19 and 6:30 a.m. on Aug. 20, someone rummaged through an unlocked car parked in the driveway of a home on the 3000 Block of Grandview. Several items were reported stolen to the , with an estimated loss of $120.

Sometime between 12:01 a.m. on Aug. 19 and and 8 a.m. on Aug. 20, someone removed a number of electronic items and a wallet from an unlocked car parked on the 8900 Block of Brandon. The car's owner said a number of other items were disturbed. The total estimated loss was $465.

Sometime between 10:30 p.m. on Aug. 19 and 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 20, someone stole loose change and cash from an unlocked car parked on the 8900 Block of Brandon.

Sometime between 9 p.m. on Aug. 19 and 7 a.m. on Aug. 20, someone removed numerous items from an unlocked car parked on the 3000 Block of Grandview. Total loss was estimated to be $75.

Motor Vehicle Burglary

Sometime between 10 p.m. on Aug. 18 and 10 a.m. on Aug. 19, someone stole several items from a car parked in the driveway of a residence on the 7100 Block of Exner Drive. The total loss reported to Darien Police was $500.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 19

Motor Vehicle Burglary

Sometime between 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., someone smashed the front passenger side window of a car parked at the Darien Sportsplex at 451 Plainfield Road. A Coach purse was stolen, and the total loss reported was $500.

Sometime between 12:30 a.m. and 3 a.m., someone moved a car that was parked in the driveway of a home on the 7300 Block of Exner and moved the car into the middle of the street, using a valet key that was left in the car. Nothing was reported stolen from the car.
