Monday, July 16

Driving while license is suspended, no tail lights, uninsured

Eric Scott, 41, of the 7400 block of Chappel Ave., Chicago, was arrested by Darien police at 2:42 a.m. following a traffic stop at Lemont Road and I-55 and charged with driving while license is suspended, no tail lights and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

Scott has a court date pending in Downers Grove.

Retail theft - shoplifting

Donald Dunning, 22, of the 200 block of Zinnia Drive, Romeoville, was arrested by Darien police at 3:38 p.m. at Walmart, 2189 75th St., and charged with retail theft – shoplifting.

Officers were called to Walmart after Dunning allegedly walked past the last point of sale with a Sony Bravia 40-inch television valued at $488. Walmart loss prevention had Dunning in custody when police arrived, after which he was taken to the Darien Police Department where he was processed and released.

Dunning has a pending court date in Downers Grove.

Monday, July 23

Retail theft - shoplifting

April Svoboda, 20, of Gulf Shores, Alabama, was arrested by Darien police at 6:38 p.m. at Walmart, 2189 75th Street, and charged with retail theft – shoplifting.

According to police reports, officers were called to Walmart, where the store’s loss prevention had Svoboda in custody for allegedly shoplifting various articles of women's underwear and a pair of Capri pants worth $46.06 by placing them in her purse.

She was taken to the Darien Police Department where she was processed and released. Svoboda has a Sept. 4 court date in Downers Grove.
