Saturday, July 16

Speeding, underage drinking

Kevin J. Heidegger, 19, of 00W000 block of Elm Street in Willowbrook, was arrested around 12:55 a.m., police said. He was stopped for speeding near Cass Avenue and Interstate 55 and charged with speeding and underage consumption of alcohol, according to reports. Police processed and released him with a court date pending in Downers Grove.

Friday, July 15

Stolen seating

A brown metal outdoor bench with a leaf design back support and basket weave bottom was taken from the front porch of a residence on 8300 block of Arden around 7:30 a.m., police said. The loss totaled $200.

Retail theft

Anthony Allen, 18, of the 00W700 block of Mockingbird Lane in Willowbrook, was arrested around 3 p.m., police said. He was charged with retail theft after police said he took a set of earbud headphones and a pair of sandals worth $19.98 from the Cass Avenue Walgreens. An officer found Allen after he allegedly ran to a street west of the store. Allen also was charged with obstruction after giving the officer a false name and date of birth, according to the report. Allen was processed and released with a court date of Aug. 30 in Wheaton.

Thursday, July 14

Attempted theft

A driver’s side rear window was broken during an attempted burglary around 2 p.m. in the parking lot of the 75th Street Walmart, police said. No loss was listed, but the driver’s door was unlocked, the driver’s seat position had been moved and part of the ignition was broken off.

July 13

Car burglary

An iPod Touch, iPod Nano and $17 in change were stolen from a car parked in a driveway on the 8100 block of Portsmouth, police said. The car was most likely unlocked when the items worth $367 were taken around 10:41 p.m.

July 11

Car burglary

A change purse, $30 and a blue costume jewelry bracelet were taken from an unlocked car parked in the lot of the 75th Street Walmart around 2 p.m., police said. The thief, however, did not take a cell phone that was left in the car. The value of the lost items is listed at $85.

July 6

Stolen packages

Two boxes UPS delivered to a house on the 3100 block of Beller were stolen around 3 p.m., police said. The contents of the boxes are valued at $175.

June 29

Hardware heist

A resident on the 3400 block of Drover reported a lawn mower, power washer and a roto-tiller were stolen from the side of his house at the end of June, police said. The theft happened sometime between June 22 and June 29, but was just recently reported. The loss is listed at $720.
