Police Blotter: Underage DUI on Plainfield, Marijuana Possession

Marijuana possession

Joseph C. Heimer, Jr., 32, of the 400 block of Wilkins Drive in Des Plaines, was arrested around 4:55 p.m. in the parking lot of a closed business at 15700 103rd Street, said. Officers said they approached Heimer while he was sitting in his car. He had some marijuana with him and admitted that he had been smoking it before the officers got there, according to the report. He was cited with possession of cannabis and released, with court dates pending.

Stolen kids clothes, dog food

Anna E. Kalska, 46, of the 6300 block of Wilshire Lane in Downers Grove, was arrested around 3:45 p.m. at the 75th Street Walmart, police said. Officers said she took three items of children’s clothing and several cans of dog food past Walmart’s cash registers, where store security stopped her. She cooperated with security throughout the incident, police said. Kalska was cited with retail theft and released.

DUI on Plainfield

Jelena Bystrova, 18, of the 7800 block of Knottingham Drive in Darien, was arrested around 12:05 a.m on the 1400 block of Plainfield Road, police said. Officers said Bystrova smelled strongly of alcohol when they pulled her over in connection with driving erratically. Bystrova’s passenger, Ernestas Pocius, 24, of the 1000 block of State Street in Lemont, said he bought her two bottles of wine, the report said. Police said Bystrova admitted to drinking. Her blood alcohol levels were more than twice the legal limit of 0.08, according to Breathalyzer test results. Bystrova was charged with two counts of DUI, driving without a license and improper lane usage. She was given a May 14 court date. Pocius was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and cited with allowing Bystrova to drive without a license. He was given a May 30 court date.
