Minor hit with alcohol, speeding  charges

Christopher D. Sears, 19, of the 2400 block of Ingalls Avenue in Crest Hill, was arrested around 1:50 a.m. on the 8200 block of Cass Avenue, police said. Sears was arrested after he was observed driving erratically and was speeding. Police said open alcohol was found in the vehicle. Sears was charged with minor in consumption of alcohol and speeding, police said.

Jorge Auielio Tetzpa, 35, of the 2100 block of Warren Avenue in Downers Grove, was arrested at around 11:43 p.m. near Cass Avenue and Plainfield Road, police said. Officers said Tetzpa was observed running a red light an Cass Avenue and Plainfield Road. Police said they saw two open cans of beer in Tetzpa’s vehicle and he showed signs of intoxication. After providing a breath sample to officers, Tetzpa proved to be three times over the legal limit, police said. Tetzpa was charged with disobeying a traffic control device and no valid insurance, police said.

Woman allegedly steals food, Bulls T-shirt from Wal-Mart


Nancy B. Dougherty, 57, of the 400 block of Chicago Avenue in Clarendon Hills, was arrested around 3:53 p.m. at Wal-Mart, 2189 75th St., police said. Dougherty was arrested after being observed placing a loaf of bread, candy, and Bulls T-shirts and other clothing items, valued at $71.92, in a Wal-Mart tote bag and walking out of the store, police said. Dougherty was stopped outside of the store by security. Dougherty said she remembers taking the bag and the loaf of bread, but did not remember anything else. She was transported to the Darien Police Department where a search of her items revealed a small amount of cannabis. Dougherty was charged with retail theft and possession of marijuana, police said.

Man charged with stealing DVDs, Blu-ray discs


Trenard Smith, 30, of the 7400 block of Tennessee Drive in Willowbrook, was arrested around 6:48 p.m. at Wal-Mart, 2189 75th St., police said. Officials said he was observed by store security putting $69.92 worth of DVDs and Blu-ray discs into his jacket and leaving the store. He was charged with retail theft, police said.

Teen charged with vandalism

 

Denis Bohmer, 18, of the 7500 block of Orchard Lane in Woodridge, was arrested at 10:30 p.m. at 7511 Lemont Road, police said. Officers said Bohmer was observed walking behind Chestnut Court shopping mall wearing dark clothes and a bandanna over his face. Police said he had fresh paint on his hands and had paint pens. Officers said two signs had been recently tagged with graffiti. Bohmer admitted to tagging the signs and confessed to two other previous incidents, according to police. He was charged with vandalism, police said.
