Police Blotter: Woman Almost Drives Into Police Car, Faces DUI Charges

Outdoor items damaged

Vandals damaged a fence, propane grill valve and a landscaping cord holding a tree at a home on the 1700 block of Wildwood Lane over the course of four days, said. The incidents caused about $160 in damage.

Stolen soccer nets

A total of four soccer nets were taken from Smart Oaks Park and Darien Community Park overnight, police said. The nets had a combined value of $400.

Woman nearly hits police car

Kathleen Grace Enright, 49, of the 200 block of West 68th Street in Darien, was arrested around 10:20 p.m. on the 7800 block of Clarendon Hills Road, police said. Enright almost hit a police car while turning onto Clarendon Hills Road, the report said. She then started speeding 45 mph in a 30-mph zone, police said. When she was pulled over, officers said her speech was slurred, she had red, glassy eyes and her breath smelled strongly of alcohol. She told police she had been drinking but refused a Breathalyzer test, according to the report. Police charged her with driving under the influence and speeding and gave her a May 8 court date.
