Police: Couple Leaves Kids in Car to Use Drugs at Gas Station Christmas Eve

The parents bought the heroin earlier in the evening with the kids in tow before stopping at a Darien gas station, police said.

A married couple has been accused of shooting heroin in a Shell station bathroom on Christmas Eve while their two children waited in the car, said.

Georgina Burr, 27, of the 500 block of Don Marquis Drive in Walnut, IL, told police that the family had bought heroin on the west side of Chicago earlier in the evening, according to reports.

She and her husband, Andrew, 25, stopped at the Shell station on Cass Avenue around 7 p.m. to use the heroin, police said.

A witness saw the couple go into the women’s bathroom at the gas station, leaving a 10-year-old and a 4-year-old child in the parked car for about 10 to 15 minutes.

Officers said they confronted the couple and found heroin and a needle on Georgina Burr.

The Burrs were charged with endangering the health and safety of a child and felony possession of a controlled substance.

They were taken to DuPage County Jail and were released on bond. The children were picked up by a family member.

Andrew Burr is scheduled to appear in court on Monday. Georgina Burr has a Tuesday court date.

At least they didnt do it in front of the children. Which is worst? Leaving them in the car or shooting the dope in front of them? I could go both ways with this, but I think shooting it in front of them is far worse then leaving them in the car.

But is it any better that the intention was to drive with the children in the car for like a 2 hr plus car ride to their home?? All around this is horrible ..i feel bad for the kids who didnt get to have their parents with them on christmas because drugs were more important! Gina i used to have so much more respect ...now its totally gone
