Police: Lemont Man Found Sleeping in Car Faces Felony Heroin Charges

The man told police he had been using the drug, which officers found in his car door, according to the report.

A man faces felony drug charges after discovered heroin in the driver’s side door of his car around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, police said. 

Officers found Ryan A. Nemec, 22, of the 00S400 block of Hill Road, asleep in his car on the 1000 block of Hinswood in Darien, the report said. 

When they approached the car, officers said they could see a glass pipe and a clear bag filled with marijuana on the front passenger seat.

Nemec had trouble opening the driver’s side door and spoke with slow, mumbled speech, the report said. His pupils were constricted and his eyelids drooped, police said. 

He told police he had recently used heroin, which officers found in the driver’s side door, the report said. Drug test results are not yet available.

Police charged Nemec with felony possession of a controlled substance, as well as DUI, unlawful possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken to DuPage County Jail where he has since been released on bond.
