Police: Man Files Fake Report Because Cops Make Him 'Nervous'

He confessed to a history of filing false reports in Darien and surrounding communities, police said.

A Downers Grove man learned the hard way on New Year’s Day what happens when you cry wolf one too many times.

George M. Calvino, 21, of the 600 block of Gierz Street, told officers that a car tried to run him over in the XSport Fitness parking lot, according to reports.

The officers told him that they were going to review video footage of the lot, which police said prompted Calvino to admit he made up the story.

The confession didn’t stop there.

Calvino said he’s filed a number of fake police reports in Darien, Woodridge and Downers Grove that were too minor to require follow up, according to the report.

The reason: He told the officers he “gets upset with the police and they make him nervous.”

The officers gave Calvino a ticket for filing a false police report.

Calvino spoke with an NBC 5 reporter in July 2010 about attending every day of Rod Blagojevich's first trial. The budding lawyer said he committed to the trial because he's "interested in what's going to come out of (Blagojevich's) mouth."

Local police might say the same thing about Calvino.
