Police: Man Refuses to Leave Car During Traffic Stop

Police say the Downers Grove man had been weaving into oncoming traffic.

A Downers Grove man was charged with driving under the influence Aug. 17 after police saw him weaving on Lemont Road, at one point into oncoming traffic, said.

Albert Ariola, 64, of the 700 block of 86th Street, refused to answer questions when officers pulled him over about 12:50 a.m., according to the report.

While he first got out of the car, Ariola then went back in and told officers he wouldn’t leave it because he “didn’t want to do anything incriminating,” police said. He also refused a Breathalyzer test.
