Police: Man's Public Intoxication Leads to Substance Possession Charge

The following information was supplied by the Geneva Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Geneva police arrested Roman Ladron-DeGuevara, 35, of Geneva on charges of possession of a controlled substance and cited him for public intoxication around 12:31 a.m. Nov. 10 in the 1200 block of Lencioni Circle, reports said.

According to the synopsis sheet, officers reported to a disturbance call by a neighbor. Ladron-DeGuevara was standing at the front door of the residence and was trying to wake someone to let him in.

Reports said Ladron-DeGuevara had an unsteady gait, trouble keeping his balance and a strong odor of alcohol about him. As he was taken into custody for public intoxication, officers found three green pills inside a container in Ladron-DeGuevara’s front pocket. The report did not say what the drug might be but said officers did advise Ladron-DeGuevara that it was illegal to possess the drugs in an unauthorized container.
