Darien Man Charged with Sexually Abusing Lockport High School Student

Lockport police say the man had sex with a 17-year-old girl at the school where he worked.

A Darien man has been charged with sexually abusing a 17-year-old female student in Lockport Township High School District 205, according to police.

Timothy J. Hagan, 39, of the 3000 block of Drover Lane in Darien, was arrested Thursday and charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse in connection with a 2009 incident, according to a press release from the Lockport Police Department.

Hagan, who at the time worked in the Lockport school district’s IT department, is accused of having sex with the then-17-year-old victim sometime between April 27 and May 29, 2009, Will County State's Attorney spokesman Chuck Pelkie said. Hagan is also suspected of performing a second sexual act with the minor during the same time period, Pelkie said.

Hagan was released on bond Thursday, police said. If convicted, he could face three to seven years in prison for the Class 2 felony.
