Ruling Due Today on Testimony in Darien Murder Trial
Prosecutors are seeking to admit a wide body of testimony against alleged murder orchestrator Johnny Borizov of Willow Springs.
A judge is set to rule Thursday on what testimony can be allowed in the trial of Johnny Borizov, 32, of Willow Springs, for the March 2010 murder of Darien residents Jeffrey, Lori and Michael Kramer, the Chicago Tribune reports.
According to the paper, prosecutors are seeking to admit a variety of testimony, including from the couple's confessed shooter Jacob Nodarse and from witnesses to what they say was a breakdown in the relationship between Borizov and the Kramers over a custody dispute involving the son of Angela Kramer, who survived the shooting by hiding in a closet.
The prosecution intends to try and prove that Borizov got Nodarse to kill the Kramers in by convincing the latter that he had become involved in the custody fight and that Borizov had connections with organized crime.

“The defendant had a habit of acting like a mob guy, like he’s connected, a hit man,” Assistant State’s Attorney Joe Ruggiero told the paper. “[But] basically, he’s full of it.”
