The ceremony will start at 9 a.m. at the Darien-Woodridge Fire District station on Lyman.

On September 11th, at 9 a.m., a short ceremony will be held at the at 7550 Lyman, Darien. This ceremony will be in remembrance of the 343 New York City firefighters, and the thousands of other citizens, who lost their lives during the terrorist attacks of 2001. Flags commemorating each of the firefighters who died that day will be placed near the firefighter memorial, which contains a piece of one of the twin towers at ground zero. Many firefighters from other countries will be training at the Darien-Woodridge Fire Protection District station this week and are expected to bring their countries' flags to the station as well.
