Three Darien Businesses Burglarized

Two nail salons targeted within half-hour.

Burglars struck three Darien businesses last week, including two nail salons Friday within 30 minutes of one another.

An alarm went off at CT Nails on 75th Street around 1 a.m. Friday, police said. When police arrived, they found the front door shattered and $50 missing from the store.

This is the second time CT Nails has been burglarized within a span of three weeks. On May 2, burglars stole a flat-screen TV and a laptop after shattering the front door, police said.

Also Friday, less than a half-hour after the CT Nails incident, burglars attempted to smash the front door of TT Nails on Cass Avenue, police said.

Officers responded to an alarm and found the salon’s front door shattered but intact because it was made of shatterproof glass. The burglary attempt caused about $500 in damage to the door.

Burglars peeled away the shatterproof glass from the front door of J. Vincent’s Salon and Day Spa between 8 p.m. May 15 and 8:30 a.m. May 16, police said.

The suspects rifled through several areas in the salon but didn’t take anything, according to the report. The front door sustained about $500 in damage.
