Trial for Man Charged in Darien Triple Murder Postponed

The trial for Johnny Borizov, a Willow Springs man accused of orchestrating the shooting deaths of three members of a Darien family more than two years ago, has been postponed.

In June, DuPage County Judge Daniel Guerin set the start of Borisov's trial for Jan. 29, 2013. Borizov's attorney, Paul Deluca, is co-counsel on a federal case that is scheduled to begin on Jan. 14, which is expected to run four to six weeks. Because the dates of the federal trial and Borizov's trial conflict, Deluca asked if it would be possible to postpone the start of Borizov's trial.

Guerin agreed to continue the case. No new date has been set yet for the start of the trial.

Borizov, 28, is accused of conspiring to have Jacob Nodarse, 24, of Countryside, kill Angela Kramer, the mother of Borizov's child. Officials said Nodarse entered Kramer's home through a window on March 2, 2010, and shot and killed Kramer's parents and brother. Kramer survived by hiding in a closet and dialing 911.

In June, DuPage County Judge Daniel Guerin denied a motion from Johnny Borizov’s defense team to subpoena information regarding interrogation techniques police used when questioning Borizov's co-defendant, Jacob Nodarse.

Nodarse pleaded guilty but mentally ill last year to pulling the trigger of the gun that killed Jeffrey and Lori Kramer, as well as their son Michael. Nodarse is expected to testify at Borizov's trial.
