Woman Charged After Almost Striking Squad Car

Police say driver had open containers of alcohol in her car.

A Bolingbrook woman nearly hit a squad car that was parked on the shoulder of Lemont Road Monday morning, police said. 

Brittany M. Moore, 23, of the 400 block of Liberty Drive in Bolingbrook, was charged with driving under the influence, lack of insurance, improper lane usage and illegal transportation of alcohol, police said.

After stopping the vehicle in the 9000 block of Lemont Road, police reportedly saw several open containers of alcohol. Police charged Moore's passenger, 21-year-old Gabriella Negron, of the 15200 block of Pleasant Court in Homer Glen, with illegal transportation of alcohol.

Negron was processed and released to a friend with a court date pending in Downers Grove, police said. Moore was taken to the Darien police station and processed before being picked up by a friend. Moore's court date is set for Aug. 16 in Wheaton.
