Woodridge Man Throws Marijuana Over Bridge During 3-Town Chase

The chase started in Darien, traveled through Bolingbrook and ended in Lemont when the man crashed his car, police said.

A Woodridge man was charged with multiple felonies March 5 after said he led them on a chase that extended from the city and through Bolingbrook before concluding in Lemont.

The chase began shortly before 2 a.m. when officers said they saw Eduardo Lopez, 20, of the 8100 block of Rutherford Drive in Woodridge, swerving over the center lane line and turning several times without signaling.

Officers attempted to pull him over, but Lopez continued driving through Darien, Bolingbrook and Lemont, with a short stint on Interstate 55, according to the report.

Lopez crashed in Lemont and ran from his car, throwing a bag of marijuana over a bridge before officers caught him near Lemont Road and Beller Drive, the report said. Darien police were unavailable to provide more information on the incident. 

Police charged Lopez with three counts of aggravated fleeing and eluding, obstructing justice, resisting a peace officer, improper lane use, possession of cannabis, driving without insurance, driving with a suspended license and failure to signal. He was taken to DuPage County Jail, where he has since been released on bond.
