Why are you running for this office?

Becoming a member of the school board is a new and vital way for me to help all of the children of District 66. I am aware that there are many changes that District 66 will face in the next few years. I have a well rounded background and perspective to help our district succeed in facing those challenges ahead and to thrive as a whole. I would like to represent all children in our district, their parents and the community.

We live in a technological world today. It is imperative that we utilize technology in all areas of our children's education. I am currently back in school and have seen first hand how technology plays an important role in education. There are so many ways to use new and innovative programs to enhance learning. We must keep pace with new advancements that can benefit all the children in the district. Incorporating enhanced technology in our classrooms is key.

My professional and volunteer background has been multifaceted and lends well to representing the children and community of District 66. I have been a social worker for over 22 years. I have been an advocated for others in the past, both professionally and as a PTO board member since 2007. I have been a volunteer at our church and have been actively involved in Boy Scouts for the past 7 years. I also have the current perspective of being a student in 2013.

  • I have been an active member with District 66 PTO for the past 7 years. 
  • August 2007 - Present. I am a current board member at Priaireview School. 
  • I was the President of Elizabeth Ide PTO for 3 years from August 2007 - Aug 2010. 
  • I was the District 66 PTO President from August 2007 to August 2008.
  • I am currently in my third year on the PTO Board at Prairieview School as Secretary, starting in August 2010.
