Candidates File Petitions in Six City Races

The filing period for the April consolidated election ended Monday at 5 p.m.

Kevin P. Monaghan filed a petition to challenge incumbent Mayor Kathleen Moesle Weaver in the April consolidated city election, according to City Clerk Joanne Coleman.

The filing period to submit a petition for a spot on the April 5 ballot ended Monday at 5 p.m.

Two candidates, Arleta P. Peknik and JoAnne E. Ragona, filed to run for city clerk, Coleman said. Coleman will not be running for re-election.

Michael J. Coren will be seeking re-election as Darien's treasurer.

Tina Beilke filed to run against incumbent Ward Two Alderman John Galan, who is seeking re-election.

In Ward Four, Joerg Seifert filed to challenge incumbent Alderwoman Carolyn A. Gattuso.

No one filed to run against Ward Six Alderwoman Sylvia McIvor, who is also seeking re-election.

Anyone seeking to contest the filings can submit an objection to by 5 p.m. Dec. 28.
