Darien Lions Announce Changes to Fourth of July Parade Route

The 2014 edition of the Lions' Independence Day parade route will weave through residential streets due to 75th Street construction.


The Darien Lions Club's Fourth of July Parade will be held on Friday July 4, beginning at 9:30am.
Due to all the construction on 75th street this year the parade will have a new parade route. This year’s parade with has a hometown touch with the parade taking a path through the residential streets of Darien.
Following is the 2014 parade route:
  • Parade steps off from the Jewel parking lot at 75th Street and Cass Avenue;
  • North on Cass Avenue to 71st Street;
  • East on 71st Street until Clarendon Hills Road;
  • South on Clarendon Hills towards the finishing line at Hinsdale South High School.

The Darien Lions Club also encourages area youth to participate in the Bike Decoration contest. Boys and girls should be at the Jewel parking lot at 9 a.m. July 4. Awards will be given to the best boy and best girl decorated bike.
