Winners Announced For Darien's Holiday Lights Decorating Contest

Residents get into the spirit of the season with colorful and extravagant holiday lights displays.

Winners in the city of Darien’s Holiday Lights Decorating Contest were announced by committee chairman Jeanette Campos at Monday’s City Council meeting.

Friends and neighbors nominated deserving decorators for prizes including $200 for first place, $100 for second, $50 for third and $25 for fourth- and fifth-places. The decorating committee also chose three honorable-mention winners this year.

Residents are invited to take the city’s free holiday lights tour, scheduled for 6:30 and 8 p.m Wednesday and Thursday.

The tour departs from City Hall and winds through Darien, passing by each winning home. Reservations, which can be made on a first-come, first-serve basis, are limited to the first 30 residents for each tour.
