'Hope for Hunter' fundraiser planned July 8

Event will benefit Hunter Himes, who was critically injured while riding his bike in February.

Darien and surrounding communities continue to rally around , the eighth-grader critically injured when he was in February.

A "Hope for Hunter" fundraiser will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, July 8, at Tap House Grill, 6010 S. Cass Ave., Westmont.

The benefit will include a buffet dinner ($20 for adults and $10 for children ages 12 and under), a cash bar and soft drinks available for purchase.

Representatives from Lia Sophia, Scentsy, Thirty-One, Tupperware, Mary Kay, Cards for Life, Pampered Chef, Creative Memories and Tastefully Simple will also be selling their wares at the event and donating a portion of their profits to the cause.

Funds raised during the event will help support Hunter and his family as he continues his recovery. Hunter suffered numerous injuries, including a traumatic brain injury, when he was pinned underneath a car while crossing the street.
