Waltzing Australia

The Indian Prairie Public Library at 401 Plainfield Road in Darien will host writer/photographer Cynthia Clampitt on Sunday, February 26 at 2 p.m.  Clampitt will present a travelogue focusing on places she visited during the six-month journey that she took in Australia, after leaving her corporate career in America.

In her blog, Clampitt writes, “…as I climbed the corporate ladder, there was a persistent dream that kept me from really feeling at home. I wanted to be a writer. I had always wanted to be a writer. But how would I ever find the time to make the dream come true?  Eventually, the answer came to me: just quit. Walk away from the corporate world and write.”

Her book Waltzing Australia is a result of that 20,000 mile journey.  Clampitt will autograph books after the program.  This program is free and open to the public.
