Hinsdale South Forms Community Advisory Team

The team is made up of 13 members of the District 86 community, who will help administrators at Hinsdale South increase student achievement.

As an extension of its School Improvement Plan, Hinsdale South High School has announced the formation of a Community Advisory Team (CAT.) This team will consist of 13 local individuals who will offer their unique perspective of viewing the school from a familiar, but outside, perspective.

CAT members will provide insight to the Hinsdale South leadership team on the ways in which the school can increase connections with the community while striving for increased student engagement and achievement.

The Hinsdale South leadership team took applications for 13 Community Advisory Team members representing the following demographic areas:

  • 3 local business owners
  • 2 educators that live in D86 boundaries, but who do not work for D86.
  • 2 future HSHS parents
  • 2 current HSHS parents
  • 2 former HSHS parents
  • 2 HSHS alumnus

"Because we want to immerse team members into our school culture, CAT meetings will take place during the school day. Meetings will take place four to six times during each school year and be about two hours in length. We are asking team members to volunteer to serve either one or two year terms," said Dr. Brian Waterman about the team on the school's website.
