Students at North High School in Downers Grove will perform the musical “Guys and Dolls” this weekend.
The show will run Nov. 2-4, with evening performances on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and a performance on Sunday at 3 p.m.
The community is welcome to attend. Tickets are $8, $7 for students, and available at the door or by purchasing them in person at the activities department at the school. (The office is open 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1, and Friday, Nov. 2.)
Winner of the Tony Award for best musical, “Guys and Dolls” is the story of the hip, wise and funny characters of a fast-paced, hand-to-mouth, rough-and-tumble New York City. Tough but honorable gamblers meet their match in the iron-willed and faith-filled Save-A-Soul Mission. The clash is steamy and hilarious.
Students will don authentic 1930s Salvation Army uniforms on loan from the Salvation Army Museum, and will use a brand new scenery projection system.
