New Our Lady Principal: 'I Felt Extremely Welcome'

Marian Stockhausen has previously served for six years as principal of another elementary school.

The new principal of Darien's Our Lady of Peace school is a grandmother of eight and an 18-year veteran of the education field who has expressed tremendous appreciation for the welcome already shown to her by the OLoP community, the Suburban Life reports.

“They have a wonderful staff, wonderful parish community and I felt extremely welcome,” Marian Stockhausen told the paper. “They had a nice reception for me with a little breakfast... The staff had come in, and I got to meet them. They were a beautiful staff and the families have been dropping by to say hello.”

According to the paper, Marian, who completed her educational doctorate from National Louis University in 2005, has taught students aged from kindergarten through eighth grade and served as an elementary-school assistant principal for six years and as a principal for another six.
