PHOTOS: Lace Students Send Special Delivery to Soldiers

Over the course of several weeks in February, students at Lace Elementary School collected enough pajamas, t-shirts and toiletries to provide care packages to dozens of U.S. soldiers serving in Afghanistan.

Students from teacher Bonnie Bucholz's third-grade class gave those care packages a warm send-off Wednesday when they carried the boxes into the post office on Cass Avenue in Westmont. Bucholz, who has a son in the Air Force, coordinated the event.
