Reports Show Darien's Highest Paid School Administrators
School districts release annual compensation reports.
School districts in Illinois are required to release a report by Oct. 1 each year on administrator compensation, including salary, pension payments, bonuses and insurance.
Patch compiled a chart ranking the base salaries of select administrators at the main schools and districts serving Darien students.
The chart shows compensation for superintendents, assistant superintendents, principals and assistant principals at Darien School District 61, Cass School District 63, Center Cass School District 66, Hinsdale High School District 86 and Community High School District 99.

The average administrator salary in Illinois during the 2011 school year was $109,759, according to the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE). According to the ISBE school report cards, the average administrator salaries at area districts are:
- Darien School District 61: $127,653
- Cass School District 63: $144,669
- Center Cass School District 66: $110,385
- Hinsdale High School District 86: $137,839
- Community High School District 99: $126,146
