Five New Coaches Named for Hinsdale South Athletics

The Hornets' boys volleyball, girls swimming, girls water polo, boys' basketball and wrestling teams all have new head coaches for the 2013-2014 season.

Hinsdale South athletics has named five new varsity head coaches so far for the 2013-2013 school year, the Doings Burr Ridge reports.

According to the paper, the new coaches are Josh Zolecki (boys volleyball), Beth Walker (girls swimming), Haley Nelson (girls water polo), Brett Moore (boys basketball) and Steve Holland (wrestling).

Zolecki was an all-conference volleyballer at Hunter College, played professionally in Italy and won the 2012 USA Volleyball Open National Championship with Chicago Coast South, Walker has assistant coached at the Hinsdale South pool for two decades and Nelson is a former Naperville Central All-American water polo player, the paper said.

Also, according to the paper, Holland is a Wheaton North wrestling legend, won the 1997 lightweight World Amateur Bodybuilding Championship, has coached the Falcons wrestlers for 13 years and is also Hinsdale South’s new dean of students; Moore, meanwhile, is transferring from a coaching position at Plano.
