The Lions scored the only points they would need early in the first quarter as quarterback Zachary Mahoney hit Jemari Burks with a touchdown pass to open the scoring. While the Trojans hung tough the first half, the Lions never looked back and came out with a convincing 31-0 win.

The Salute to the Service game featured pre-game skydivers and a tribute to our veterans, many of whom came out on the field at half time.

Lyons moves to 2-2 overall and 1-1 in the West Suburban Silver Conference. The Lions are at home again next week for a 7:30 p.m. game Sept. 21 vs. rival Hinsdale Central.

Downers Grove North lost its first game, falling to 3-1 and 1-1 in the West Suburban Silver. Next week, the Trojans host non-conference rival Downers Grove South at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 21.
