Hornet Swimmers make a valiant splash against conference rivals!

Hornet Girls Swim Team takes on Addison Trail/Willowbrook swimmers in a conference rivalry that was loud and brought everyone to therir feet!!

Everyone was on the edge of their seats at the Hinsdale South pool last night as the Hornets took on conference rival Addison Trail/Willowbrook. A strong performance from varsity divers Marissa Dupont, Nicole Hall, and Rosa Seivwright started the meet with a 1-2-3 finish! The Hornets, in a rebuilding year under coaches Frank Kuchta and Beth Walker, had many strong top 3 performances.  The cheers were deafening in the pool stands as parents and friends cheered on their favorite swimmers! The energy was palpable, but in the end despite many great swims the Varsity Hornets lost 101-82. As a show of tremendous sportsmanship at the end of the meet, both teams lined up and shook hands out of respect for each others performances. Hornet first place finishes were Mika Deshmukh 100 Breaststroke and Rachel Hawken 100 Backstroke. Hornet second place finishes were 200 Medley and 400 Free Relay, Rachel Hawken 200 IM, Kiana Shin 50 and 100 Free, Briana Kirin 100 Fly,and Victoria Frank 500 Free. Hornet third place finishes were Victoria Frank 200 Free, Briana Kirin 200 IM, Claire Onchuck 50 Free, Kelsey Barry 500 Free, Mili Gvozdjan 100 Breaststroke, and 200 Free Relay. The JV Hornets defeated Addison Trail/Willowbrook 72-55! Great job Hornet Girls Swim Team!!!
