Cass Junior High School Discusses Psychology Careers
On Thursday, February 28, 2014, the 6th grade MAP (Mind Adventure Program) students participated in a presentation by a professional therapist and Cass parent, Sarah Stukas. The group had previously been studying the brain and the field of Psychology. Mrs. Stukas shared information regarding why she chose to work in this field, what type of schooling is involved and the different experiences that she has had in the work place.
Mrs. Stukas also explained to the students the difference between the careers of: counselor, therapist, psychologist, and psychiatrist. Finally, the students learned how diet, sleep, and exercise help in maintaining good mental health.
