Darien-Woodridge Fire Sponsoring 5K for St. Jude Children's Hospital
And more stuff going on in and around Darien this weekend.
The Darien-Woodridge Firefighters Local 3437 and area residents will team up with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in the fight against childhood cancer this weekend.
The Raising Awareness, Raising Spirits, Raising Hope 5K Walk is an event to give area residents the opportunity to help support the lifesaving mission of one of the world's premier pediatric cancer research centers.
It's at 10 a.m. this Saturday, Sept. 28 at Oldfield Oaks Forest Preserve and Meyer Woods Park in Darien.

The family-friendly event will be include food and fun activities for all ages, including a firefighter obstacle course, fire trucks and ambulances for the kids and a stand with root beer floats and ice cream sundaes. Chicago Sports Legends will be hosting a silent auction of Chicago sports memorabilia.
