The Darien-Woodridge Fire Protection District serves 12 sq. miles of territory, including Darien west of Cass Avenue, as well as portions of Woodridge and unincorporated DuPage County. The district receives about 2,800 emergency calls each year. The headquarters and training center are located at 7550 Lyman Avenue; Station #2 is located at 5901 Belmont Avenue; and Station #3 is located at 8687 Lemont Road, Downers Grove. The station employs 30 full-time personnel and 25 part-time personnel. Wayne Messenger is fire chief.
