Charles-I agree with you but marriage has been redefined. I think households worked better whenRead More roles were more established. We will not see those days again.

Dan, I also agree with you. The leave it to beaver days worked. God only knows what will happen inRead More the next 30 yrs. My parents were married for 51 yrs when my dad passed. I can't imagine being with my husband that long (joking).

Gene was a great man and a good friend. Even after his retirement from West Suburban Bank heRead More continued to be active looking for new branch locations. I was honored to see Gene return from DC on the honor flight. He truly was amazed at the turn out of all his family and friends. Gene will be missed by all.

Gene Kolling simply was a civic treasure. He really put the lie to the saying "nice guysRead More finish last." NOT!! His many, positive impacts on daily life here in Darien will last for as long as Darien does. For all of us who knew him it was both a pleasure and a privilige. We will miss him a lot but also remember him fondly. His truly was a "life lived well"!

Gene was a true gentleman and dear friend. A man who always cared about Darien and it's residents. IRead More was honored to be involved with him and his trip with honor flight Chicago. Rest in peace my dear friend and "until we meet again."
