Vanilla Ice Talks Home Renovation and Career Reinvention

Ice was back with a brand new invention at Q Billiards Oct. 23.

Even in his 1990 breakthrough hit, Ice Ice Baby, Vanilla Ice promised reinvention. That year, at 23, he released his debut album, To the Extreme, which contained the seminal track that cemented him in the pop culture pantheon of one-hit wonders. To the Extreme spent 67 weeks on the Billboard Top 200 charts, peaking at No. 1. His next two efforts peaked at 30 and 89, respectively. None of his albums have charted since. But as with so many novelty acts before, reality TV has breathed fresh life into Vanilla Ice's career. On tour in support of his seventh studio album and a new TV show, Vanilla Ice performed Oct. 23 for a mid-sized crowd of fans old and new at Q Billiards.
