Patch readers crown this week's pick for a staycation.
I can’t say that I was surprised by the top pick in this week’s Readers’ Choice. Loyal members voted the Darien Swim & Recreation Club their favorite place for a staycation. The club has a long history as a summer staple in Darien, with membership spanning multiple generations. “It’s kind of like a summer-long block party,” Jim Valenti told Patch last summer. “Everyone becomes friends. If you don’t know anyone, within 20 minutes you know everyone.” Congratulations to the Darien Swim & Recreation Club! Memberships for the 2012 season are now available. The pool opens May 26.
