Darien Man Accused of Seeking Hit Man From Jail to Kill Ex-Girlfriend

Joseph Spitalli, of Darien, was charged in November with kidnapping his ex-girlfriend and slitting the throat of her new boyfriend. He appeared in court Monday.

A Darien man charged with kidnapping his ex-girlfriend and slitting the throat of her new boyfriend was additionally accused Monday of trying to put out a hit on his ex, The Chicago Tribune reported.  Joseph Spitalli, 34, of the 7500 block of Country Lane in Darien, was previously denied bail. He's charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of aggravated kidnapping, a Class X felony. If convicted he faces life in prison with no possibility of parole.  Police say they responded to a battery call Nov. 16 and found 31-year-old Skokie resident Teymur Huseynli dead in the front lawn from a knife wound.
