Darien-Woodridge Fire Department Open House Today
The Darien-Woodridge Fire Department will be collecting donations for 'Operation Support Our Troops' at it annual open house on Saturday.
The Darien-Woodridge Fire District is hosting its annual Fire Prevention Week Open House on today from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Open House will take place at its headquarters station at 7550 Lyman, in Darien. The theme for this year’s Fire Prevention Week is “Have 2 Ways Out.” The department's new 105-foot ladder truck and an ambulance will be available for people to see and sit in. Firefighter clothing also will be available to try on, so folks are encouraged to bring cameras to take pics. Also on display will be fire extinguishers, smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors, as well as a display of things that were burned in actual fires.
