Watch: 'Best of the Midwest Fest' Band Competition at Q Bar and Grill​

All the videos from the local music-scene festival held in Darien last month hit YouTube this week; check out some of the best bands around!

Darien's Q Bar and Grill hosted Rock Chicago's Best Of The Midwest Fest back in April—a fairly major contest for local bands, with prize money—and thanks to YouTube user Chevy00001, the whole shebang is now on YouTube, and findable above. Video Gaming Remains Banned in Darien – For Now

City council took no action on video gaming Tuesday night, but will gather more information and revisit the issue at a future meeting.

Q Bar and Grill owner Robert Taft would like to add video gaming machines to his establishment at 8109 S. Cass Ave. in Darien.  But as the number of Illinois bar owners  applying for gaming licenses continues to grow, he worries that being in the back of that line could mean the end of the line for his business. Over the past month, Taft has been asking Darien officials to help him stay competitive with bar owners in neighboring towns by reversing the city’s 2009 decision to ban video gaming. Taft thinks the addition of video poker machines will bring in new clientele and boost  revenues at his bar and grill, which already features pool and Foosball tables, dartboards, bean bags and video arcade games. Wanna Bet? Video Gaming Could Be in Darien’s Future

Local bar and grill owner hopes city council will overturn ban to help him compete with neighboring businesses that offer video gaming to their customers.

In recent years, a weak economy has dealt a pretty lousy hand to businesses owners across the country, who often struggle to attract customers amid fierce competition.  But local businessman Robert Taft is hoping the Darien City Council will improve his chances by reversing its 2009 decision to ban video gaming in the city. Taft, the owner of Q Bar and Grill at 8109 S. Cass Ave. in Darien, came before the city council Feb. 4 to ask aldermen to review Darien’s ordinance prohibiting video gaming. He thinks the addition of video poker machines to his bar and grill -- which currently features pool and Foosball tables, dartboards, bean bags and video arcade games -- will help him to better compete with area establishments in municipalities …
