Westmont Aldi Robbed at Gunpoint on Monday

The suspect was wearing a ski mask and got away with $3,000 to $4,000 in cash.

A man robbed at gunpoint the Aldi location at 6415 S. Cass Ave. in Westmont on Monday night at around 9:00 p.m., making off with between $3,000 and $4,000 in cash. According to Westmont police, the suspect is a black male in his 20s between 5’9” and 6” tall. He was wearing a ski mask and a puffy winter jacket, and brandished a handgun during the robbery. Police said it is unknown if the weapon was real. “In my experience, they’re making some of these BB guns look so real these days that we can’t even tell the difference,” said Westmont Police Department Sergeant Stephen Thompson. “The people in the store definitely believed it was real.” Witnesses did not see how the man left the scene, or in what direction. Men Charged in Robbery Near Clarendon Hills Plead Not Guilty

All three men had arraignment hearings in DuPage County court on Monday, Pioneer Local reports.

All three men charged in the March 7 robbery of a juvenile that took place in an unincorporated area near Clarendon Hills plead not guilty in DuPage County court Monday, according to Pioneer Local. Kelechekwu Akuba, Leverenzel Booth and Jerron Wilbut made their pleas during separate hearings in front of Judge John Kinsella, who according to Pioneer Local informed the men that the state's attorney had filed aggravated robbery and armed robbery charges against the men in addition to the original robbery charges. The armed robbery charge carries a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison, Pioneer Local reports. Jerrot Wilbut is a former candidate for Mr. Basketball Illinois; he and two others are charged with robbing a juvenile near Clarendon Hills.

One of the three men arrested and charged with robbing a juvenile near Clarendon Hills late Thursday afternoon—a group that also incuded a Darien man—is a former Downers Grove South basketball star and a 2013 recruit for the Seton Hall University Pirates. Jerron Wilbut, 19, of Willowbrook, is being held in lieu of $10,000 bail following their arrests Thursday, according to the DuPage County Sheriff's Office. Before graduating from Downers Grove South in 2012, Wilbut was a standout shooting guard for the school's basketball team and was a candidate for Mr. Basketball Illinois. Darien Man Charged With Robbing Juvenile Near Clarendon Hills

Leverenzel Booth and two other men were charged with felony robbery Thursday after an incident near Clarendon Hills, the DuPage County Sheriff's Office says.

Charges were announced Friday for three men who sheriff officials said robbed a juvenile near Clarendon Hills late Thursday afternoon. Kelechukwu Akuba, 20, of the 300 block of Daisy Circle, Romeoville, Leverenzel Booth, 18, of the 7500 block of Farmingdale Drive, Darien, and Jerron Wilbut 19, of the 16W600 block of Mockingbird Lane, Willowbrook, were all charged with one count of robbery, a class 2 felony, after they stole money and property from the juvenile while displaying an object that the victim believed at the time to be a handgun, according to a release from the DuPage County Sheriff's Office. That strip mall is also not incorporated. When the deputies from DuPage get called, they need to send 2 squads because the bangers steal from the squad. This practice has been in place for years. Darien Police reports Aug. 31 to Sept. 2.

Darien Police are looking for three men who robbed a man of his bicycle near the intersection of Clarendon Hills Road and Elm Street. It happened around 11:30 a.m. on September 2. The victim told police that he was appoached by three males who knocked him down and stole his bike.
