Downers Grove North Dance Team Joins Breast Cancer Fight at Komen Race for the Cure
The Athenas dance team participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure on Sunday, Sept. 23, at Yorktown Mall in Lombard.
The Downers Grove North Athenas dance team joined the fight against breast cancer last month, volunteering at the annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. The varsity and junior varsity teams joined thousands of runners and walkers at the event, held Sept. 23 at Yorktown Mall in Lombard. "The girls had an amazing time at Komen for the Cure," said Jennifer Isaacson, head coach of the Athenas. "It was an inspiring experience for everyone." Isaacson said she signed up her team for the event to teach them the importance of giving back. "Obviously my job is teach them to dance, but it's also my job to teach them to be good people who do things for their school and community," Isaacson said.
