NAPERVILLE A woman who moved out of an apartment in the 200 block of East Bailey Road two months ago returned to the apartment May 15 and asked the property manager if she could get her belongings. She was told by the property manager that the apartment was cleaned out and she was not allowed to enter, police said. A resident then saw the woman scale the balconies to get to her old apartment on the third floor, but she was not able to gain entry, police said. CLARENDON HILLS An apartment tenant on the 200 block of North Richmond Avenue wrote in magic marker on his door that "any trespassers will be shot," according to a police report. SATURDAY, FEB. 9 A purse was taken from a victim at the Darien Sportsplex at 1:05 p.m., police said, and the loss was valued at $415. No suspect information was provided. An unknown person put shaving cream and purple yogurt on two cars parked in the driveway of a residence in the 1800 block of McAdam Road between 9 p.m. and midnight, police said. THURSDAY, OCTOBER 18 Sometime between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., someone broke the rear passenger side window of an SUV parked in the parking lot of Brookhaven Marketplace at 7516 Cass Avenue and stole a purse that was on the floor of the backseat. The victim told Darien Police the loss was about $600. WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 17 At about 11:40 p.m., someone took a cell phone from a table left in the 7500 Block of Country Lane. According to Darien Police, Pilot violated a condition of her release from a previous domestic battery arrest by being in the home of a protected person. SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 22 Sometime between 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m., someone stole a purse from a shopping cart at the Brookhaven Marketplace at 7516 Cass Avenue. The purse's owner told Darien Police that she left the purse in her cart while she was loading groceries and left the parking lot. When she realized she forgot her purse, she returned to the store, and the purse was gone. According to the owner, the total loss was about $1000. SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 2 Between 3 p.m. on Sept. 1 and 6 a.m. on Sept. 2, someone removed a flower pot a resident's property on the 7800 Block of Nantucket Drive and threw it onto the neighbors driveway. The person who did it also removed a windsock from the front of the home. Total loss was listed as $10. SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 1 Between 10:30 p.m. on Aug. 31 and 2:23 a.m. on Sept. 2, three homeowners reported to Darien Police that someone had damaged their mailboxes on the 7600 Block of Nantucket Drive. Domestic battery Police arrested Robert A. Polit, 18, of the 8000 block of Lake Ridge Drive, Darien, after a verbal altercation turned physical with a 50-year-old victim. Police said Polit struck the victim in the head multiple times with his fist. The 50-year-old victim was transported by Darien-Woodridge paramedics to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove for observation. Polit was processed at the Darien Police Department and charged with two counts of domestic battery. He was transported to the DuPage County jail for a bond hearing and his court date is pending.
