The third annual Darien Swim and Recreation Club Golf Outing will take place at the Carriage Greens Country Club on Aug. 25, starting with check-in at 6:45 a.m. Shotgun start is scheduled for 7 a.m. Registration for the event will be $100 through Sunday. The price will increase to $110 after that. Registration price includes:

Carriage Greens Country Club’s ‘Nine & Wine’ promotion donates to Darien VFW post.

Golfers can make a donation toward Darien Memorial Post 2838 Veterans of Foreign Wars while hitting the links at Carriage Greens Country Club this summer. Those who participate in Carriage Green’s “Nine & Wine” promotion pay for nine holes of golf and receive a $10 same-day credit per cart toward food and beverages at the club’s signature restaurants, The 8700 or The Sandtrap Grille. And, for every two greens fees paid, Carriage Greens will make a $5 donation to the local VFW post.     The promotion will continue until Oct. 31, for tee-time bookings after 4 p.m. on Friday through Sunday, based on two greens fees per cart occupancy. Hope for Hunter Golf Outing to be Held at Carriage Greens

The fundraiser is scheduled to take place on August 16 at the Darien country club.

The community continues to rally around Hunter Himes, the Lakeview Junior High eighth-grader critically injured when he was struck by a car while riding his bike in February. Hunter’s family is organizing a Hope for Hunter Golf Outing, which will take place August 16 at Carriage Greens Country Club in Darien.  Funds raised during the event will help support the Downers Grove-area boy and his family as he continues his recovery at a nearby rehabilitation facility. Last Chance: Buy Your Tickets to A Hero’s Fight for Life

The benefit is raising money to support the children of late Darien Police Sgt. James Borsilli.

Sgt. James Borsilli served 24 years in the Darien Police Department before he passed away this winter after a yearlong battle with cancer. The Darien Police Department, along with other members of the community, is hosting a fundraiser April 20 at Carriage Greens to help support the late sergeant’s two teenage children.  Tickets are $35 in advance or $40 at the door. The event runs from 7 p.m. to midnight and will include food and drinks, a silent auction, raffle and more.  The fundraiser is also accepting donated items for the silent auction and raffle. Kingswood Academy Hosts Golf Outing

Annual fundraiser will be held Sept.11 from 12:00-7:00 p.m.

Everyone needs a little help from their friends now and again, which is the very reason Kingswood Academy hosts an annual golf outing — to raise funds for families needing tuition assistance. The need has become greater in recent years among the 168 students and 88 families enrolled, said Carrie Peters, Kingswood’s advancement director. “As [more] families struggle with job losses, pay cuts and increases in prices,” Peters said, “we all work together to ensure that those who want to attend school here can.” The scramble event, sponsored by Advantage National Bank in Elk Grove, will take place at Carriage Greens Country Club. Chamber Golf Outing Brings Three Towns Together

Darien's Chamber of Commerce teamed with Westmont and Woodridge to welcome about 100 golfers to Carriage Greens for Wednesday's event.

Golf events have long been a staple of community Chamber of Commerce summer schedules, but Wednesday’s Community Golf Classic at Carriage Greens Country Club in Darien featured a new twist. Instead of just the Darien Chamber of Commerce, the event was a collaborative effort along with the Westmont Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Bureau and the Woodridge Area Chamber of Commerce. The response was robust, with around 100 golfers, dozens of local sponsors and several volunteers pulling the event off. “The Darien chamber has been leading the way to bring on more multi-chamber events,” said Darien Chamber of Commerce Chairman of the Board Angelo Imbrogno of The Blue Diamond Group. “The turnout was great.
