ReplyIt's ironic that this story surfaced the same day as one about a former San Diego mayor who wasted a billion dollars (of money earmarked for charity, by the way) on video gaming. Gambling is such an addictive and destructive force -- I do NOT want to see Darien go down this path.

ReplyI've been there twice already -- yesterday, and one time a week or so ago. It's a very inviting store, a nice layout and neatly kept, and the staff was helpful and friendly. They have a variety of things besides cards, like Christmas ornaments (I got a cupcake!), jewelry, figurines, gift bags, and Fanny May and other candies. It's a great addition to our community.

ReplyI'm really sad to see Smashburger go -- I loved it!! Thank Heaven, I know how to make my own pretzel rolls. :) I'm lobbying for a Boston Market. I'd go there once a week.

A. Bezek, please don't blame the victim here. Yes, there definitely are children who are disruptive or spoiled, but that should NEVER be an excuse for the treatment that this boy received in the video. I'm sure that the school disciplinary code didn't include the option of dragging a child around by his ankles, stuffing a sock in his mouth and piling chairs on top of him.

How ridiculous, A. Bezek. A child NEVER deserves that type of treatment, no matter how "spoiled or disruptive" he may be. That's why there are disciplinary plans in place. I'm sure the school handbook did not include bullying as a form of discipline. Your comment was just blaming the victim.

How sad, but at least this discovery provided some closure for his loved ones.
